This paper tries to introduce info graphics types as one of the most effective ways of improving audience comprehension and the successful transmission of media messages based on two theories –“framework” and “subjective initiatives.” Accordingly, 37 infographics and motion graphics which broadcasted in the non-narrative and non-news programs of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th channel of IRIB in 2017 were examined as census, with layer semiotic approach using “Selbi” and “Kadori” model. The results show that these channels have broadcasted 37 infographics, of which 12 are static, 19 animated and 6 multi-media. The semiotic analysis of the works indicated that the use of iconic symbols were more successful, but the semiotic systems used in making meanings have not been successful in producing meaning and have less focused on its attributive aspects. The visual semiotic system is not used desirably and has generally been decorative. The verbal semiotic system has been more dominant than any other system with command over the entire works, whereas the use of motion or infographics is the simplification of complex concepts in the language of the image. The ratio of speech to graphics is disproportionate and lacks eloquence, simplicity, and brevity. In the written aspect, the illegibility of the vocabulary and the inappropriate selection of the font in terms of graphical fit with the entire work have made them unsuccessful in producing visual meaning and visual appeal. In motion signs, the movements are few and have no semiotic function. Overall, the works were completely away from the goals and functions related to a desirable infographics (informing, visual interaction of works and information, and so on). However, the proper use of iconographic symbols, good music, powerful narrative and program research can be considered as the strengths of infographics broadcasted.
