The subject of this article aims to “study on performance style of TV documentary”. This research relies on Brotzi’s idea in understanding the functionality of cinematic language to dramatizing stories. It is also based on Nicols’s idea in how to deal with the issue of wisdom and in use of performance elements by film maker. So the sources were gathered, the notes were taken, data were categorized, then analysed and finally the whole collected data were described and explained by two scientific (cause and effect) and descriptive methods. In point of view of Niclos, the free integration of reality and the true embodiment of what is thought to be, is a common feature of performance documentaries. In Brotzi’s view, performance documentaries depends on administrative aspects of language which is originated from administrative role of language in Stein’s perspective. The elements of performance documentaries consist of “presence of author/presenter”, “feature of combination of this type of documentary with other kinds of film”, “reality construcion”, “ film making by first impressions”, “relaity prior to play”, “attention to marginal groups”, “personal experience of film-maker” and “authority of film-maker”. In these documentaries, the camera acts as a spectator.
