Due to the audience's language variety in each radio program and the identity, function, and missions of radio channels, the linguistic study of radio programs and selecting the appropriate linguistic variety for each program, is an important question in the study of the relationship between language and radio. The research method is qualitative content analysis, and theoretical framework is based on John Austin's speech act theory and Yule and Brown's features of spoken language. The results of the analysis of twenty selected morning programs (10 programs of Radio Javan and 10 programs of Radio Iran) showed the language used in the morning programs of Radio Javan enjoy the following features: using common terms and words in the youth language; using secret language and abbreviations, speaking frankly and bravely and using short sentences according to the target audience. The features specific to radio Iran included: paying attention to the target audience; the relative unmarkedness of linguistic variety, proximity to the standard language, avoiding the use of secret language and abbreviated words and sometimes using common terms in the youth language. It was also revealed that gender plays role in selecting the narrator's speech style, such as redundancy, interrupting the audience and turn-taking in male narrators' speech.
