Abstract
The aim of this research is to identify the aesthetic components of lighting and filming of non-dramatic religious special-occasion programs on Iranian television. Non-dramatic religious production on Iranian television like Komeil supplication and other prayers, must be a means of conveying spiritual meanings. The present research’s aim is descriptive-analytical and its method is case study and observational analysis. The data collection method is documentary (library-based) based on observation, and for data mining, a typology of supplication of Komeil programs’ videos has been considered. Then, four videos have been selected with specific criteria and purposefully. Analysis of the videos showed that factors such as neglecting the application of Gestalt principles in the production of this type of TV programs, despite their maximum production, caused them not to have a proper effect and turn repetitive programs that caused audience loss instead of attraction. Therefore, it seems that IRIB should focus on these three areas of change in the quality of its non-dramatic religious programs:1-Comprehensive technical and content training for the producers of religious programs, 2-Provision of modern equipment, and 3-Creation of job motivation, to attract and retain the audience.
