Quarterly Scientific Journal of Audio-Visual Media is published in Persian with English abstracts. The journal accepts articles that focus on research in the field of audio-visual media. It is published with the aim of organizing and expanding new and indigenous knowledge in media studies, supporting research activities in the field, enhancing the quality of media production, and improving the identification of new media worldwide.
Recent advances in the production, distribution, and reception of messages in the global media system have led to profound changes in the cultural and social relations among individuals, groups, and nations. Communication technologies have become a key factor in shaping individual and social identities; therefore, attention to these developments is essential in media studies.
As the highest comprehensive center for media education and research in the country, IRIB University leverages the experience of media professionals and the expertise of scholars in media and arts to provide the necessary environment for research and theory development in this field. The publication of the Quarterly Scientific Journal of Audio-Visual Media aims to serve as a credible reference in media studies.
The journal, previously published under the title Radio and Television Quarterly, has, since 2017, utilized an electronic submission system (Javm.iribu.ac.ir) for article submission, review, and acceptance. Past issues dating back to 2008 have been archived online, providing researchers with complete access to previous editions.
Receiving the Scientific Research Accreditation Certificate from the Office of Research Policy and Planning, Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology in October 2018, along with indexing of articles in the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) since January 2019 and assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) to evaluated and published articles, reflects the journal’s growth and the increasing scientific quality of its publications, aiming to establish it as a leading reference in the field of audio-visual media in Iran.
We hope, with continued support from scholars and media experts, that this journal will soon achieve a prominent position among scientific-research journals in the country.
