Abstract
The television industry continuously seeks to foster innovation and enhance creativity in its content. As the narrative and informational backbone, television writing is crucial to a production’s success. The advent of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), with powerful text analysis and generation capabilities, introduces new paradigms to creative workflows. While this technology offers vast potential for optimizing the writing process, it also poses significant challenges regarding authenticity, algorithmic bias, and ethical considerations.

This research investigates how AI can be leveraged to augment creativity in television writing, employing a descriptive-analytical method. Through a systematic literature review and qualitative content analysis of scholarly sources, the study explores the multifaceted dimensions of this human-AI interaction. Findings reveal that AI can serve as a potent creative assistant across the writing lifecycle. Applications include ideation, developing plots and structures, creating characters and personas, composing dialogue, and optimizing scripts via summarization and rewriting.

The study concludes by advocating for a balanced approach: the strategic use of AI not as a substitute for the writer, but as a tool to amplify human imagination. The human creator’s role remains indispensable, as authentic creativity is rooted in critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and nuanced artistic sensibility. The future of television writing is contingent upon a constructive synergy between AI’s computational power and the unique ingenuity of the human writer.
