Abstract
Crises are an inseparable part of today’s human life. Given the big role of media in different dimensions of human life as well as the increasing growth of using Internet and virtual space, identifying the role of these modern media (virtual media) in managing social crises is a necessity.
To reach its objectives, this research examines the works and views of experts in crisis and media management using interviews and descriptions. Content analysis was employed to analyze the interviews’ data.
Virtual space would be an effective tool in controlling a crisis at its different stages, if an appropriate strategy is adopted in due time.
There are various methods to alleviate the impacts of a crisis. Methods such as media tactics make use of communicative strategies. This article focuses on communicative and media methods in managing social crises.
