One of the important phenomena in sociolinguistics is "address terms" that provide significant social-linguistic information about audiences and the relationships between them. This research, in a descriptive-analytical manner, compares address terms in the Iranian home video and national television (IRIB) series, citing the theories of Wardoff (2006) and Chaika (1982). Data were collected through non-participatory observation and address terms were extracted based on their type and function. Based on the extracted data, these terms were compared and examined to see whether the theoretical frameworks in question are effective in analyzing the Persian language. The findings show that out of the six types of address terms introduced by Wardoff, five are present in Persian. Also, the existence of the three functions proposed by Chaika (sincerity, power, and respect) was confirmed in both series. In addition, the negative use of address terms in Shahrzad was more in all three cases than in Kimia.
