Organizational structure is one of the most important distinguishing features of successful organizations representing the history, strategy, type of audience, specific features, and concerns of a media company. This study seeks to examine the structure of successful media companies in terms of their commonalities and differences, and to gain a more accurate understanding of the organizational structure requirements for designing or redesigning the structure of media organizations. For this purpose, a comparative approach was applied in this study. In the first step, top media companies that had the features of a media conglomerate were selected from the list of top media companies of a reputable ranking system. Then, data on the organizational structure of top media companies was collected by reviewing the official websites of each company. Based on the results, a relatively similar pattern of structure can be found in all four media conglomerates studied, which are broadly categorized as follows: presidency, finance, legal, executive, public relations and brand management, strategy and planning, and finally, media management. The comparative study showed that many job titles are similar or identical among the four companies studied. These similarities, such as the legal department, indicate the importance and challenges of this department for the media. The differences were mainly due to some of the specific tasks of the media companies or differences in their strategies in dealing with audiences and production.
