The TV schedule is the main output of television which has a crucial role in identity-making and improving the brand. But during the historical progression of TV and its passing from monopoly (rarity) to competition (access) and finally proliferation (abundance) or post-channel, the position and significance of the role of television have been endangered. In fact, with the multiplicity of content-generation centers beside technological advancements of the digital age, which brought the control and ease of the content being watched in a variety of times, places and the viewer’s desired tool, the TV schedule was threatened more than before. This qualitative research with historical perspective and comparative method, in addition to historical review of the TV schedule, analyzes its conceptual changes and developments. The findings of this research suggest that alongside the digitalization stream comes the worry about the future of traditional (linear) television; as not only does TV face new rivals but also itself is inherently changing in different ways with providing internet and online (non-linear) services. However, despite these claims, the TV schedule, as the main conceptual core of the television wave and the rhythm-giver of daily life, is not an obsolete subject. But the concept of TV schedule and streaming still have important and axial role in the linear and non-linear television industry.
