چکیده

در این مقاله مفهوم آیین در فیلم سینمایی آواتار(2010) بررسی شده‌است. چارچوب نظری این پژوهش براساس نظریه‌های: 1) ارتباطات آیینی رودنبولر[1]، 2) نماد/ فرهنگ‌گرایی گیرتز، 3) سینمای غالب هالیوود و 4) جهانی‌سازی رونالد رابرتسون است.
پرسش اصلی این است که آیین در آواتار به چه معنا و خصلت‌های بین‌فرهنگی آن کدام است. برای تحلیل داده‌ها از روش نشانه‌شناختی تصویری استفاده شده‌است. روش نمونه‌گیری، هدفمند و واحد تحلیل «صحنه» است.
تحلیل پایانی نشان می‌دهد که:
1) «تلفیق» در«آیین ناوی‌ها» به اوج می‌رسد. این آیین تلفیقی از آیین‌های هندو، بودایی، چینی، ژاپنی وآیین کابالیستی یهودی است. این تلفیق می‌تواند مقدمة شکل‌گیری یک آیین جهان ـ ساخت غیرتوحیدی باشد. 2) علم‌گرایی صلح‌طلب روی دیگر آیین‌گرایی طبیعت‌پرست است و «سبک ‌ـ آیین» آواتار گونه‌شناسی جدیدی در سینمای هالیوود برای ایدئولوژی نرم است.3) از تحلیل سیاسی فیلم این گونه برمی‌آید که آواتار، نقد نرمی بر جنگ ویتنام است.

This article explores the concept of “rituals” in the movie Avatar (2010). The theoretical framework of the research has roots in the following theories: Rothenbuhler theory of Ritual Communication, Geertz Symbol-Culturalism theory, Hollywood Cinema and Robertson Globalization theory.
The research question is what “rituals” means in Avatar movie and what are its inter-cultural implications? The tool for collecting and analysis of data is visual semiotics. Sampling method is systematic and the unit of analysis is a “movie scene”.
Findings reveal that:

“Combination” in “Na’vi rituals” reaches its pick. These rituals are a combination of Hindu, Buda, Chinese, Japanese and Jewish Kabbalistic rituals. This combination could be a prelude to formation of awa global atheist ritual.
Peaceful Scientism is the other face of Naturalistic ritual and the style of Avatar rituals is a new typology in Hollywood cinema for soft ideology.
A political analysis of the film indicates that Avatar is a soft review of Vietnam War.
